My Top 3 Essential Oils & How I Use Them

I try to avoid harsh chemicals where I can and therefore, I often opt for essential oils. To be honest, in the beginning, I have used them because I really liked the scent, but over time, I have learned to incorporate them into my skincare & life. I will be writing about my top 3 essential oils & how I use them.

It all started with the Egyptians 5,000 years ago. Ancient papyrus scrolls suggest that the Egyptians have been ‘cookin’ up some herbs & fruits’ to ‘remedy the bowels’. Essential oils were also applied daily as a form of moisturizer & skin protection. I will let you read this wonderful article from Science Direct on your own.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

ESSENTIAL LEAVES

I use eucalyptus essential oil when I am sick, as it really helps with congestion & it smells very nice. I also tend to use it in a diffuser to make the room smell nice & fresh. Another use of eucalyptus oil is to wake you up. I like to have it with me in my backpack & whenever I feel tired of need a little pick me up, I add a few drops to my palms & then I take a deep breath (is that weird? I hope not). You can also put it on the soles of your feet after a shower, as this will help to wake you up

Lavender Essential Oil

LAVENDER BRANCH

Lavender oil is a very important part of the culture in Croatia & we have lavender-filled everything, so naturally, the lavender essential oil is on my list. I like to use lavender oil every day whenever I need to relax or as a spray for my pillows before going to bed. I also find that a few drops of lavender oil help me to deal with my asthma.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is great. It is so versatile, I like to use it as a spot treatment for acne, as an all-purpose-cleaner agent & as an anti-inflammatory agent for skin rashes. I also just generally like the scent. It is super refreshing & I also use it as a wake-up oil to add to my palms when I am tired. It puts me in a more relaxed state of mind straight away.

What are your favourite essential oils? What do you use them for?
